Crash Kills 22 People On Highway In Iran
Yvonne Lee - All Headline News Staff Reporter South Khorasan, Iran (AHN) - A bus crashes into a truck on a highway in Iran, killing 22 people and injuring 20 others. The accident happened early Monday on a highway between Birjand and Nahbandan, in the province of South Khorasan. Police tell BBC News the truck wandered into the lane of the bus, hitting it head-on. Thousands of people are killed each year due to road accidents in Iran. The country has one of the worst traffic safety records in the world. Reckless driving, inferior police supervision and poorly maintained roads and cars are blamed for the high number of accidents.
