U.S. Appreciates Bangladesh's Decisive Action Against Terrorism
Siddique Islam - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Dhaka, Bangladesh (AHN) - The United States government appreciated the "decisive" and "impressive action" of the Bangladesh government in combating terrorism, as the State Department was appraised of the latest situation in the country. Nicholas Burns, under secretary of State in the U.S. State Department, conveyed the appreciation when the State Minister for Home Affairs of Bangladesh, Lutfozzaman Babar, had a meeting with him in Washington on Tuesday. Burns was quoted as saying the U.S. recognizes that "no country in the world has achieved so much success as Bangladesh in the field of counter-terrorism within such a short time." He also assured the Bangladeshi minister that his government would remain "engaged" with Bangladesh on this and offered to assist in further capacity building.
