According To A New Poll Leftist Poised To Win Mexico City's Mayoral Race
Ankit Gupta - All Headline News Staff Writer Mexico City, Mexico (AHN) - According to a recent poll on June 21, Mexico's leading leftist party, will easily secure the win for the mayoral race in the capital city, despite falling support and low voter turnout. Although the support amongst potential voters has fallen to 47 percent from 51 percent in May, Marcelo Ebrard, a former Mexico City police chief from the Party of the Democratic Revolution, remains far ahead of his rivals in an election to take place July 2nd. Ebrard's closest competitor in the Mexico City's mayoral race is Demetrio Sodi of Calderon's National Action Party who has steadily gained support and apparently won points in a recent televised debate. According to reports his support rose from 25 to 28 percent.
