India To Negotiate Border Control Issues With China
Ankit Gupta - All Headline News Staff Writer New Delhi, India (AHN) - Taking forward the dialog between the two nations on the international boundary issue, India's special representative M K Naryanan will be visiting his Chinese counterpart Dai Bingguo in Beijing on June 26. According to Press Trust of India sources, the eighth round of talks between the two nations will include discussions on a framework for the resolution of the border question in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. Earlier, in March the Indian National Security Adviser Narayanan met Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo, in order to find a reasonable framework acceptable to both sides for the final settlement of the prolonged issue. China has stated that it believed in a patient and friendly consultation on the issue and that a solution can only be reached by mutual understanding and mutual accommodation. During his two day visit, Naryanan is expected to continue the earlier discussions to resolve the border issue from a political stand point and keeping in view the overall bilateral relations. Meanwhile, when Indian Defense Minister Pranab Mukherjee visited China in May and the two countries signed their first-ever memorandum of understanding to institutionalize military training and expressed their desire to "endeavor" to hold joint military exercises and training programs to add more content in the emerging strategic relations between the |
