Australian Man Accused Of Planning Terrorist Offenses
Hector Duarte Jr. - All Headline News Staff Reporter Brisbane, Australia (AHN) - A man accused of planning to blow up an electricity grid in Australia is found guilty of terrorist offenses. According to the BBC, Pakistan-born architect, Faheem Khalid Lodhi was convicted of rounding up maps, chemicals and instructions on making home-made bombs and poison. He was prosecuted under the country's new strict anti-terrorism policies and is slated for sentencing at a later date. The court was told how Lodhi planned a Sydney attack in October 2003. The prosecution alleged Lodhi wrote a "terror manual" in his native Urdu that supposedly contained instructions on making explosives and poisons. The court was also shown maps of Australia's national electricity grid that Lodhi had purchased. The jury was told how police confiscated DVD's containing information on violent jihad and terrorist training.
