Lawmaker's Friends And Relatives Killed By Taliban
Richard Rittierodt - All Headline News Staff Writer Kandahar, Afghanistan (AHN) - 32 friends and relatives of a lawmaker in Southern Afghanistan were killed by Taliban militants. MP Dad Mohammad Khan had stated that 27 of them had been murdered after they had gone to the scene where the other five had been shot dead in an earlier attack. Khan says, "Yesterday morning in Taliban attacks, 32 of my relatives and friends were killed. Ten relatives of mine are still missing and five are wounded." The first five were killed when they were returning home from a visit from Ghorak district in the neighboring Kandahar province. The incident was later confirmed by officials. Deputy provincial governor Mullah Amir Akhund says, "A total of 30 people were killed in the two attacks in Sangin district yesterday, which includes two brothers of MP Dad Mohammad, one of his sons and the rest are mostly his relatives. "
