Japan Will Announce A Plan To Pull Out Its Troops From Iraq: Daily

Tokyo, Japan (AHN) - According to the Asahi Shimbun daily, Japan will announce a plan to withdraw its ground troops from Iraq this month.

Japan's PM J. Koizumi is to announce the withdrawal of troops from Iraq before June 29, when he visits Washington, the daily, said on Saturday.

Quoting government sources, the paper, said Japan will begin withdrawal of its troops after the new Iraqi government takes over security operations in Muthanna province, where Japanese troops are deployed.
