ADB Looks To Combat Corruption
Josephine Roque - All Headline News Contributor Manila, Philippines (AHN) - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced its medium-term plan to battle corruption in a bid to step up efforts to decrease poverty in the poorest Asian countries. "As the poor are often the worst victims of weak governance, the strategy has identified strengthening governance and preventing corruption as priorities," the ADB statement said. The plan would take place over three years and looks to uplift the region's investment climate and achieve high growth. ADB states its operations would be more selective and focused on road transport, energy, urban infrastructure, rural infrastructure, education, and financial services.
