Australia Expresses Outrage At Food Aid Distributor
Josephine Roque - All Headline News Contributor Sydney, Australia (AHN) - Australia has deemed it unacceptable that a radical Islamic group distribute food aid to Indonesia's earthquake survivors. The Associated Press reported that the World Food Program had contracted with Bashir's Majelis Mujahidin Indonesia, or MMI, to distribute 95 tons of food to the survivors of the May 27 quake. Since then, World Food Program has ended its connection with the group because of its association with Bashir. Bashir was recently imprisoned for conspiracy in the terrorist bombings in Bali in 2002. He is the leader of the Jemaah Islamiah organization. The Bali bombing killed 202 people and injured hundreds.
