Istanbul Bomb Blast Injures Four People

Istanbul, Turkey (AHN) --Four people were injured when a small bomb exploded inside a trash container in a crowded area of Istanbul.

Police suspect the bomb was planted by Kurdish militants linked to the Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, which is fighting for autonomy in Turkey's southeast, reports the AP.

Initially, authorities were wary of leaking details to the press for fear of hurting the tourism industry.

The incident happened in the district of Eminonu, a busy commercial and historical neighborhood with street merchants and tourists.
