Israel Replies To Hamas With Gaza Airstrike; Two Palestinian Militants Killed
Matthew Borghese - All Headline News Staff Writer Tel Aviv, Israel (AHN) - Israel has responded to Hamas' ending of 16 months of cease-fire, by launching an airstrike in Gaza. According to the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), it struck militants as they prepared to launch further rockets, from a position near Beit Lahiya, in the Gaza Strip. The IDF says 48 rockets struck Israel over the weekend, one severely wounding a man next to a school in the city of Sderot. Furthermore, Israel is holding the Palestinian Authority "fully responsible" for the attacks, adding "Unfortunately, it continues to take no action in order to prevent the daily attacks against Israeli civilians." "The IDF will continue to act with determination and to employ all means at its disposal to combat terrorists and their infrastructure, in order to defend the citizens of Israel."
