Nuclear Energy Forum For France And UK

(AHN)-A nuclear energy forum is set for France and the UK. They will share Franco-British industry expertise.

A defense policy is also on the agenda with European enlargement and Iran.

The AP reports the UK generates far less of its electricity from nuclear power than France - about 20 percent. France's long tradition of nuclear power meant it was a good opportunity to co-operate and learn from each other.

"We have agreed to explore in the short term and further develop the opportunities of working together in the civil nuclear field," the two leaders said in a joint statement following the talks.
