Japanese Volcano Erupts
Josephine Roque - All Headline News Contributor Tokyo, Japan (AHN) --Mount Sakurajima in Southern Japan erupted belching smoke about 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) into the air. The volcano surged at 5:30 p.m. with moderate sound and strength of the tremors. There was no other significant change in volcanic activity, the bulletin said. "We do not believe that a large-scale eruption is imminent," said agency official Akira Otani to the AP.
