Mass Grave Actually Part of Cemetary
Richard Rittierodt - All Headline News Contributor Beirut, Lebanon (AHN) - What was once believed to be a mass grave, turned out to just be part of an old cemetary. According to Prosecutor General Saeed Mirza, the remains of 28 people found last December in Anjar ranged from 50 years old to 350 years old. Mirza said, "The remains found are part of an ordinary cemetery used by Muslims who lived in the village to bury their dead." When the site was first discovered last year, many were pointing fingers at Syria's military. However, their military had only been in the region for nearly three decades and according to a statement by Mirza, none of the bodies date after 1950.
