Chilean Police Arrest 160 Protesting Students

Santiago, Chile (AHN) - At least 160 students are arrested during clashes with police in Chile.

BBC News reports the students are demanding a complete restructuring of the education system. They say education does not have enough resources, which leads to disparities between public and private schools.

The students were arrested during the second nationwide strike by secondary school students in a week.

The government argues it has already agreed to demands such as increasing funding and offering free transportation.

However, students say the concessions do not meet their key demands, one of which is offering free bus passes to all.

They also want the fee to take university entrance exams waived.
