U.S. Accused Of Funding Somali Warlards
Nji Che - All Headline News Contributor Washington, D.C. (AHN) - A Somali expert on Monday accused the U.S. of funding Somali warlords in their long running battle with the Islamist militia. According to the expert, the U.S. administration currently channels $100,000 monthly to support the warlords. The move, which some former intelligence experts believe can prevent the emergence of a defiant pro-al Qaeda regime, backfired on Monday when the Islamist militia gained control over the capital city, Mogadishu. U.S. authorities have declined to comment on the situation, while anonymous former intelligence sources maintain the CIA and military could be involved.
