Israeli Airstrike Kills Palestinian Militant
Julie Farby - All Headline News Staff Writer Gaza (AHN)-An Israeli missile strike on a car in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday killed one Palestinian militant and wounded four others. The Israeli army confirmed it had carried out the strike, with a spokeswoman saying the car was carrying a militant who had been involved in firing makeshift rockets at Israel. According to the Reuters report, witnesses named the dead militant as Emad Assalya and say he and the wounded were from the Popular Resistance Committees, an umbrella group of militants. They also say the car was hit by three missiles fired from an airborne drone. Meanwhile, the Israeli military has carried out periodic airstrikes in the Gaza Strip against militants who fire homemade rockets into the Jewish state, with the recent strike following days of Palestinian factional violence in the coastal territory. Five Palestinian bystanders were killed in crossfire in incidents on Sunday.
