U.N. To Raise Funds For Indonesia Quake Victims
Nji Che - All Headline News Contributor Geneva, Switzerland (AHN) - The United Nations on Friday announced the launching of a $103 million aid fund to provide emergency assistance to more than 200,000 people seriously affected by last week's strong earthquake that hit Indonesia. According to the U.N., the funds will be used to provide basic amenities like temporal shelter, medical assistance, clean water and sanitation, food and protection for children. The earthquake killed over 6000 people, leaving several thousands injured.
