Sino-Indian Pact Not Targeted At Anyone
Jacob Cherian - All Headline News Contributor Beijing, China (AHN )- Authorities in China say that the Sino-Indian pact on defense cooperation was not targeted at any other country. Instead, it was beneficial for the growth of bilateral military ties, which were an important part of relations between the two countries. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao held talks with visiting Indian Defense Minister, Pranab Mukhejee. He declared the Indian minister's visit to China a "success." He added that the two countries had reached "extensive consensus" during their bilateral talks. Press Trust of India reports that the two countries had reached consensus to "endeavor" to hold joint military exercises and training programs in the field of search and rescue, anti-piracy, counter-terrorism and other areas of mutual interest.
