German Woman Convicted In Deaths Of 8 Newborns
Yvonne Lee - All Headline News Staff Reporter Frankfurt, Germany (AHN) - A German court convicts a woman of manslaughter in the deaths of eight of her newborn babies. Sabine H is also suspected of causing a ninth baby to die, but the statue of limitations had passed on that case. BBC News reports a Frankfurt court handed down the maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. DNA tests proved Ms. H and her ex-husband Oliver H were the parents of all nine newborns. They are believed to have died between 1988 and 1998. Sabine H claims she did not injure the babies, but allowed them to die after giving birth. A neighbor cleaning out Sabine H's parents' garage found human bones. Other remains were found buried in flowerpots, a fish tank and buckets in her parents' garden.
