Basra In State Of Emergency
Josephine Roque - All Headline News Contributor (AHN) Due to security concerns, the Iraqi PM is calling a month-long state of emergency in Basra. Basra has been riddled by sect clashes, anarchy and factional rivalry. Iraqi PM Nouri Maliki said he will use an "iron fist" to crush those who threaten security reports BBC. Recently more than 100 people have died as casualty. There has been palpable tension between the 8,000-odd British troops and the Shias.
