Easyjet Plane Delayed Over Ammunition Scare
Joanna Wypior - All Headline News Staff Reporter London, England (AHN) - Low-cost European carrier Easyjet saw one of its planes delayed on a flight from Naples, Italy to London, England after it was thought that a man carried ammunition in his hand luggage on to the plane. The passenger, identified only as an elderly Italian, claims that he mistakenly packed the rounds in his bag, BBC News reports. According to the company, the man was not a "threat" but it was unacceptable that he was able to get past airport security. "There was no terrorist threat here," a company spokeswoman insisted, according to ITV News. "But we will be asking why he was able to get through security with the ammunition." "The crew noticed one particular passenger who looked as though he had something suspicious in his bag," the airline's spokeswoman said. "He was an elderly Italian gentleman. We approached him and it turns out he had some ammunition in his bag. It was a couple of rounds of ammunition. He didn't have any kind of weapon."
