India For Jammu, Kashmir Autonomy

Srinagar, India (AHN)-- In a new initiative to bring peace to Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh announced that he is planning to discuss autonomy and self-rule for the state. He also expressed his government's willingness to talk to militants if they give up violence.

After a two-day roundtable conference on Kashmir, the Prime Minister also said he would help in the rehabilitation of destitute families of terrorists killed in police action and discuss the issue of missing persons.

Mr.Singh announced setting up five working groups to discuss various issues related to Jammu and Kashmir.

He expressed hopes that separatists will join the dialogue process.
