Oil Tanker Explosion Kills 35 In Benin

Cotonou, Benin (AHN) - At least 35 people were killed and dozens injured in Benin when an oil tanker burst into flames while they were stealing petrol on Wednesday. According to Benins national radio, the accident took place at Porga, about 310 miles north of Benin's commercial capital, Cotonou. About 23 people have been burn to death at the spot and some 80 people seriously injured were brought to the hospital, the radio informed. Florent Priili, a doctor who is treating the injured tells Reuters, "It is going to get worse and the number of dead is going to rise. There are now more than 15 people for whom there is no hope."
