New Delhi, India (AHN) - A day after the government decided to implement 27 percent reservation for backward communities, striking doctors and students asked the crowds to support them by joining in a "civil disobedience" protest. Press Trust of India reports that as the strike entered its eleventh day, the medical professionals staged peaceful sit-in demonstrations. The Indian Medical Association has called a nation-wide "medical strike" on Thursday to oppose the government's decision. The students and doctors have vowed to make their protests more aggressive and intense. Interviews are being held throughout Delhi to recruit junior and retired doctors to compensate for the lack of medical services due to the strikes.
