Rainstorm Kills 9 People In E. Pakistan

Islamabad, Pakistan (AHN) - Nine people were killed and 13 others were injured on Monday when a rainstorm hit several cities in eastern Pakistan's Punjab province. The Pakistani newspaper DAWN reported that there was widespread building and infrastructure damage in Gujranwala, Lahore and some other towns, due to the rainstorm with winds of up to 113 km an hour and the collapse of buildings caused casualties. Nine people were killed in Gujranwala, some 70 km northeast of Punjab's provincial capital Lahore and 13 others were injured, it said.
