Sao Paulo, Brazil (AHN) Brazil has begun a formal probe into the fatal shooting of over 100 suspects by police in a wave of violence in the state of Sao Paulo, when members of the PCC, a crime faction controlled from within state prisons, began attacking police. Rights groups say innocent civilians were killed and they demand the police provide a full list of victims' names. The BBC reports that 109 people were shot dead by police last week and those names and death details have not been made public. Sao Paulo's civil and military police departments have been given until Thursday to comply.
