Islamabad, Pakistan (AHN)-- Despite criticism by the United States over the Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline, Islamabad and Tehran and New Delhi have decided to hold talks to discuss issues like pricing, trilateral framework and appointment of consultants to carry out feasibility studies. Pakistani and Iranian officials began talks to discuss the $7 billion pipeline. It is the second time in less than a month that the two sides are holding talks on the 2,600-km-long pipeline despite stiff opposition by the US. Press Trust of India reports, Pakistan for its part has been saying that it would go ahead with the project in view of its escalating energy requirements. However, observers see Pakistan's stand as an attempt to pressure the US to extend the Indo-US nuclear deal.
