Crucial Week For Peace Process

New Delhi, India (AHN)-- As Prime Minister Manmohan Singh begins another round of talks with the people of Jammu and Kashmir this week, Sunday's terror attacks in Srinagar are bound to complicate the peace process. Press Trust of India reports as New Delhi and Islamabad struggle between potential forward movement on a broad range of issues and a dangerous set back, this is a long week for Indo-Pak engagement. A possible positive outcome could pave the way for an early visit by Prime Minister Singh to Pakistan. However, the Srinigar attack is symbolic of the many pitfalls that lie ahead. If the violence in Srinagar on Sunday and the recent brutal attack on Hindu villagers in Doda district are part of a pattern, India might have no option but to rethink its current assumptions about the peace process.
