Gaza City, Gaza Strip (AHN) - In what officials of President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah Party said was a clear conspiracy against their leaders, Palestinian security foiled a second assassination attempt in two days. The fear of civil war has been raised with the latest bout of Palestinian infighting between the Fatah party and the Hamas, which controls the Palestinian government. Security forces found a 154 pound roadside bomb along a route used by Gaza security chief Rashid Abu Shbak. The Hamas have been angry ever since Abbas placed Abu Shbak in charge of three security agencies that report to the Hamas-controlled Interior Ministry. Fatah spokesman Tawfiq Abu Khoussa said, "There is a clear conspiracy aimed to target Fatah leaders and the security chief in the Gaza Strip with suspicious objects. What happened today near Abu Shbak's house and yesterday with the intelligence services is proof of this."
