Harare, Zimbabwe (AHN) - Political opposition leader, and party officials have been arrested in Zimbabwe, on the eve of an election. Arthur Mutambara and four officials from the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) have been arrested in the capital before a Saturday election. The move comes as trade unions may call a series of general strikes. According to officials within the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions, meetings are being held to decide on what to do after five-month talks with the government have broken down. Zimbabwe continues to face economic trouble, as annual inflation is over 1,000 percent.
