Kabul, Afghanistan (AHN) - The BBC on Friday reported the capture of Mullah Dadullah, a senior Taliban military commander. The report said Dadullah was held in the Kandahar province by a team of international troops. Government officials in Kabul have not confirmed the BBC report but admit, "There was an operation and three high-ranking Taliban commanders have been captured but I cannot confirm that Mullah Dadullah was one of them," a government statement said. Dadulla, who fought the Mujahideen War to counter soviet invasion in the 1980s, is a highly respected Taliban commander. He is a member of the Taliban's 10-man ruling council and close leader of fugitive leader Mullah Mohammad Omar.
