Thirteen Killed In Peruvian Bus Crash

Lima, Peru (AHN) Thirteen people were killed and 40 others injured when a crowded bus skidded off a highway and flipped over in Perus southern Andes mountains. An American woman is among the dead. She was identified by the Minneapolis Star Tribune as 20-year-old Meghan Sennott, the daughter of one of that newspaper's photographers. The paper said she was a junior at Boston University. The accident occurred before dawn Sunday on an isolated road near the highland district of Santa Lucia, about 500 miles southeast of the capital of Lima. Officials are investigating the cause of the crash.
