Dhaka, Bangladesh (AHN) - Ten militants were sentenced to life-term and three-others 20-year imprisonment in Bangladesh on charge of chain bomb explosion in the northern Joypurhat district town on August 17 last year. Judge AFM Aminul Islam of the Speedy Trial Tribunal of Rajshahi in Bangladesh delivered the verdict on Sunday in presence of 23 out of 27 members of the outlawed Jama'atul Mujahedin Bangladesh (JMB) activists, who hail from Joypurhat. The court also acquitted 14 people, as they were not found guilty. The militants are members of the banned JMB, which has campaigned for Islamic law to be introduced in Bangladesh. In February, 21 members of the JMB were sentenced to death for attacks in the countrys western district of Jhenidah.
