Dhaka, Bangladesh (AHN) - Burma says that it will sell gas from an offshore A-1 field to India through a land route bypassing Bangladesh. India's ONGC Videsh (OVL) and Gail together hold 30 percent stake in A-1 field operated by Daewoo of South Korea. Burma (Myanmar) had been in discussion with both India and China to sell gas from A-1 field and potential volumes from the adjacent A-3 block. "Surely, we will sell gas to India," an Indian newspaper quoted Burmese ambassador to India H E U Kyi Thein as saying. Thein said Myanmar has enough gas to sell it to both China and India. He also said the gas would come to India through a land route by linking Kaladan river to Mizoram.
